A big thank you to the Parents’ Association for providing the children with this wonderful opportunity.

A big thank you to Finbarr for delivering them and helping to put them together.
The children absolutely love them.

Orienteering

On Monday the children were all introduced to orienteering thanks to the Parents Association. They practiced their new skills around the school grounds looking for the marks.

Next Monday they we will all travel to Rineen Woods words to test our orienteering skills further.

Orienteering

All pupils will be introduced to a brand new activity for our school in the coming weeks. We have managed to secure two days of orienteering for all our pupils beginning next Monday 8th May.
The first day will be a classroom and school based introduction to orienteering for every pupil and there will be a follow up day where the children will get the opportunity to put the new skills they have learned to the test.
The cost of the instructor is €2 per child per lesson and everyone will be delighted to hear that our Parents Association have agreed to pay for this activity from their fundraising.

Thank you all for supporting the fundraising done by the Parents Association throughout the year. It is wonderful to be able to provide the opportunities for the children to experience a new activity and not having to ask parents for the money.

Go Raibh Maith Agat Coláiste na nÓg.

We would like to thank Mrs. Mary O Driscoll for organising a very successful Irish camp over the Easter Holidays. This is a fantastic opportunity for our pupils and local children to improve their Irish while participating in a fun and activity filled  camp. Mary has once again made a very generous donation of €400 to the school from the proceeds of her camp.  We are absolutely delighted to receive this donation which we will use to invest in resources to help make the teaching of Irish as stimulating  and fun filled as possible for our pupils.
Go raibh mile maith agat!

Silver Lining Production

On Friday the 13th of May, every child in the school got a very special treat thanks to the Parents' Association.
They all attended a musical extravaganza. The show was performed by Silver Lining Productions and had everything; from music to dance and even dangerous stunts.
The children loved every single minute of it. They learnt about a variety of instruments and some children even got a chance to join in and try out an instrument.
